Doll Bones by Holly Black is the story of Zach, Poppy, and Alice, who love to play make believe games with pirates, thieves, mermaids, and a Great Queen, which is a bone china doll. Now in middle school, Zach's dad decides that he is too old to be playing make believe and throws his toys away. Embarrassed that his dad threw his things away, he plays tough and tells Poppy and Alice he doesn't want to play anymore. Then Poppy tells them she has been having dreams about the bone china doll and a ghost of a little girl that can't rest until the doll in buried in her empty grave. The three friends set off and a journey to bury the Queen, but nothing goes according to plan.............Middle school students will love to go on this creepy journey.
I've been wanting to read this one; it sounds like a good creepy story.
